Therapy Services Online & In-Person in California

  • Individual psychodynamic psychotherapy is a therapeutic approach that focuses on exploring unconscious patterns, emotions, and past experiences to understand current behavior and emotional difficulties. The therapy aims to increase self-awareness and insight into internal conflicts that influence thoughts, feelings, and relationships. Through a trusting therapeutic relationship, clients are encouraged to reflect on unresolved issues, often rooted in early life experiences, which may be contributing to psychological distress. This treatment emphasizes the importance of unconscious processes and the ways in which past experiences shape present functioning. It is typically an open-ended or long-term therapy that involves examining defense mechanisms, transference, and resistance to facilitate emotional growth and symptom relief.

I work with adults aged 18 and older providing therapy sessions through telehealth on a weekly or bi-weekly basis. I offer flexible scheduling options designed to accommodate the unique and often unpredictable demands of my First Responder clients' busy lives and changing routines.

  • I offer specialized counseling for adults (18+) focused on substance use and process addictions, delivered through secure, HIPAA-compliant telehealth sessions for convenience and privacy.

Addiction counseling is a specialized form of therapy designed to help individuals struggling with substance use disorders and behavioral addictions. It focuses on identifying the underlying causes of addiction, developing coping strategies, and promoting long-term recovery. Counselors work with clients to understand the psychological, emotional, and social factors contributing to their addiction, providing support through individual or group sessions. Treatment often includes goal setting, relapse prevention, and skill-building for healthier lifestyle choices. Addiction counseling may also integrate holistic approaches, addressing mental health, trauma, and overall well-being to create a comprehensive recovery plan tailored to each person's needs.

  • I facilitate a rotating schedule of open and closed process and skills-based groups throughout the year.

Group therapy is a form of psychotherapy where a small group of individuals meets regularly to discuss and work through their mental health concerns under the guidance of a licensed therapist. The setting provides a supportive environment that encourages sharing experiences, offering mutual support, and learning from others facing similar challenges. Group therapy helps participants develop coping skills, improve interpersonal relationships, and gain insight into their behaviors and emotions. It can be particularly beneficial for those dealing with trauma, anxiety, depression, or addiction, as it fosters a sense of community and reduces feelings of isolation. Sessions are typically structured but allow for open discussion, promoting personal growth and healing in a collective setting.
